Empowering the LWA team to manage their content

As a result of having a group website training session, the staff at Leeds Women’s Aid now have the skills and knowledge to update basic content properly whilst maintaining the design integrity and elements of their website.

This means they they can get vital pieces of content on their websites promptly, enabling their visitors to access important information without delay.

They also have resources to help them in the future which includes an online training area replicating their live website and a comprehensive training manual.

Support Project Process

Read what training and resources we put in place for the LWA staff, addressing the challenges associated with their individual requirements, and what solutions we tailored for them.

The Client
Leeds Women’s Aid (LWA) is an independent charity, formed in 1972, providing services to women and children affected by Domestic Violence & Abuse (DV & A). They provide a range of the very best services for vulnerable women and families who are victims and survivors of: domestic, sexual & honour based violence and abuse; forced marriage; trafficking; stalking and harassment.
The Challenge

Due to a lack of basic website training, staff members were updating their content in the incorrect way. This resulted in web pages loosing their brand colours and looking disjointed. There were also outdated pages, draft pages that were being used as templates for new pages that were not in line with their brand or site layout.

We also had the challenge of making sure their staff had some prior knowledge before the training so they they could effectively learn more on the day of the training. They also needed support after the training so they could continue to practice what they learn’t.

The Solution

After conducting a survey with all staff on their training needs and what content they wanted to update, we created a comprehensive training document that was sent to all staff prior to the training. during this time we offered continuous support for any questions that arose from that resource.

We then arrange a half day training session on-site at the LWA headquarters. due to the prior learning from the document, this training was practical and hands on and was conducted on s staging site replicating their live website.

After their training was complete, the staging website was kept open so they could practice their updates before actioning them on their live website. Phone support was also given to all staff post training should they have any issues or questions.

“Andy delivered a very informative training session, perfect for beginners! Thank you for your services.”
